THE HARDEST BRIDGE
ST. MARY’S UNIVERSITY COLLEGE, FALLS ROAD
Can the wounds of war heal? Can enemies reconcile? “The Hardest Bridge” (45mins) focuses those questions through the insights of two remarkable individuals: Jo Berry and Pat Magee. As a fighter with the Irish Republican Army, Pat Magee planted a bomb in the Grand Hotel, Brighton, which killed five people including Sir Anthony Berry MP, father of Jo Berry. Magee was arrested and imprisoned but released under the Good Friday Agreement. Jo went to meet him. Ever since they have been on a transformative journey which has taken them to situations of tension and conflict in many countries.
Followed by a Q&A with Jo Berry and Pat Magee

An féidir gortuithe an chogaidh a leigheas? An féidir le naimhde athmhuintearas a dhéanamh? Díríonn “The Hardest Bridge” (45 nóiméad) ar na ceisteanna sin trí léargais bheirt dhaoine iontacha: Jo Berry agus Pat Magee. Mar throdaí le hÓglaigh na hÉireann, chuir Pat Magee buama sa Grand Hotel, Brighton, a mharaigh cúigear daoine, ina measc, An Ridire Anthony Berry FP, athair Jo Berry. Gabhadh Magee agus cuireadh i bpríosún é, ach scaoileadh saor é faoi théarmaí Chomhaontú Aoine an Chéasta. Bhuail Jo leis ina dhiaidh sin. Bhí siad ar thuras claochlaitheach ó shin mar a bhfuair siad blaiseadh den teannnas agus den choimhlint sa chuid mhór tíortha éagsúla ar thug siad cuairt orthu.
Imeacht saor in aisce. Ní bheidh áirithint ar bith de dhíth.
