Visual Arts Exhibition Launch

Féile opening preview night – Monday 12th March 6.30pm
All exhibitions unless otherwise highlighted will be on display in St Mary’s University College from Monday 12th– Friday 16th March
9am-5pm, with exception of Thursday 15th which will open until the later time of 9pm.

The Beauty on our Doorstep – Photographic Exhibition

After suffering from poor mental health John decided to buy a camera and try and capture the beauty on our doorstep. He is proud to have his work in homes and public buildings around the world. Through photography he has been able to help others suffering from poor mental health.

 Aidan Monaghan

A series of oil paintings celebrating the character and spirit of local culture. His paintings draw influence from music, poetry, landscape, myth, and the paint itself.

 Bea Daley The House at the Borderland

An exhibition of paintings, objects and sound of the sea, some completed during her artist residency in Inis Oirr, Aran Islands, “a house “at the edge of the Atlantic – borderland in the literal sense.

Daithi MacGiolla Mhaoill

A local West Belfast teacher, Daithi’s art depicts global political figures and events. He taught in refugee camps in the West Bank and Gaza Strip and uses his art to highlight injustices globally from events that have happened here in Ireland to those that have occurred in areas including Catalonia, Syria and Palestine.
